| Abdju
More commonly known as 'Abydos', this is the city of the dead. There are various mortuary temples here, and a few early tombs are scattered on the landscape.

| Akhetaten
A ghost town. Very little remains of the once-great capital of Egypt, built by the Pharaoh of the same name.

| Alexandria
Home to the famous lighthouse and the current capital of Egypt. The library is currently undergoing reconstruction after a fire, but the underground catacombs are still open.

| Bahariya Oasis
Located in the desert, some distance from Men-nefer, this is quite the quaint little Oasis.

| Dendera
Home to the Dendera Temple Complex, dedicated to Hathor. It's only a small town, and is on the western bank of the Nile.

The Giza Plateau is, of course, home to the Sphinx and to the famous great pyramids - there are also lots of 'lesser' ones scattered around, too.

| Men-nefer
The sometimes-capital of Egypt, sometimes called 'Memphis', It occupies much the same place as modern Cairo does.

Located in the Nile Delta, Per-Bast is a city dedicated to the goddess Bastet. It's supposedly one of the most joyful in the entire country.

| Thebes
Another city that's been used as Egypt's capital. It's famed for its temple complex, and is said to be one of the richest cities in the land.

The burial place of many Kings of Egypt. There are guards here, so don't get any bright ideas.

The burial place of many Queens and Princes of Egypt. Watch out for the guards - there are less here than in the Valley of the Kings, though.

| Abu Simbel
More correctly known as the 'Temple of Ramesses, beloved by Amun', this huge rock-cut temple, with its four iconic statues, looms over the landscape and looks deeper into Nubia.

| Edfu
Home to the Ptolemaic temple to Horus. A nicely-sized city.

Here, there's a rather unique Ptolemaic temple, dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris. Other than that, this is a largely agricultural town.

A Ptolemaic temple to Isis, situated on its own little island. There are also ruins of a temple to Hathor.
